Italy ranks fifth in Europe for number of installed robots

From M&A dtd 19-2-2018

According to estimates by International Federation of Robotics (IFR) Italy ranks fifth in Europe (tenth on world scale) with 190 robotic plants installed for every 10.000 workers.

First ten countries are : Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Austria, Spain, Slovakia and Slovenia.

In IFR world rank, South Korea is, from 2010, at first place, with 710 plants for every 10.000 workers, followed by Singapore (658) and Germany (first in Europe with 322 plants).

Japan (308), Sweden (240), Denmark (230), USA (200), Italy (190), Taiwan (197) and Belgium (192) follow, just to mention the first twelve on world scale.

According to IFR,  the world average is 85 robotic plants for every 10.000 workers (in 2016: 74 units); European average is 106 plants, America (North America, Canada and Mexico) is 91, while Asia average is 75 plants for every 10.000 workers. Italy estimate counts 190 robotic plants, only 10 less than United States (200).

Interesting information come from China, the most dynamic country in the world concerning the industrial robot density, grown, according to IFR, from 23 plants in 2013 to 97 in 2017. Today China ranks 21st in the world  (2016: 23rd rank) but the Government wants to do important steps to reach the top ten countries in the world within 2020, with an average of 150 robotic plants for every 10.000 workers at least.
