Smart Pick - robotic sacks opening and emptying system

SmartPick, how does the automatic sack picking and emptying system work?

SmartPick has been conceived imitating the operators: the dumping hoppers frontside, the pallets backside and in the middle a robot that picks from the pallet the required bags, cuts them in the hoppers and empties them with a strong shake as an operator would never do.

SmartPick is based on a robot equipped with a patented gripper and is controlled by an advanced neural software. Smart Pick can lift bags up to 100Kg weight, cut the packaging and empty the content inside a dedicated hopper.

SmartPick can handle dozens of pallet and hoppers at the same time, avoiding cross contamination of powders.

Typical applications are:

  • Batch preparation for mixers
  • Continuous loss in weight feeders loading with powders and pellets
  • Chemical reactors feeding with multicomponent batches
  • Silos loading with products delivered in bags.

SmartPick: the layout

In details the typical SmartPick system is composed by:

  • One or more (up to 200) roller conveyors or stationary to position the pallets containing bags. 
  • A six axis robot that using the smart "SP" software pick one bag after the other from the pallet
  • A PATENTED gripper
  • One or more (up to 200) cutting and emptying stations equipped with high performance powder proof suction hoods.
  • One or more empty sacks compactors
  • One station to send out the stacked empty pallets
  • The dedicated control software "SP"
  • A certified safety system

The system is modular and can be composed in a "LEGO" style design

The system is unique and is conceived for a production changeover in few minutes (and with different cutting system can be immediate)

The system is modular and expandible from one to 200 pallets and cutting stations.

The throughput of the system (number of tons per hour) can be increased later also by adding robots and stations
